Anyone from Bern knows them – the crispy and fruity house specialty from the Bärenhöfli. For generations, these golden-brown apple rings have been freshly prepared according to our secret family recipe. Whether enjoyed as a dessert or a sweet afternoon treat, our “Öpfuchüechli” are always a delight! A piece of Bernese tradition – right in the heart of the city.

However, thanks to its convenient location in the centre of the old town, the Bärenhöfli is first and foremost a popular meeting spot among locals. HISTORY
The «Coffeehouse Bärenhöfli» was established in 1894 as the first alcohol-free restaurant within the City of Berne. During the course of its history, the establishment has always managed to adapt to the new needs and demands of our customers. Today, over 100 years later, we’re still striving to delight and surprise our patrons with affordable, yet highest-quality meals.
