PURE DELIGHT: ÖPFUCHÜECHLI
The traditional «Öpfuchüechli» – Switzerland’s long established precursor to modern apple fritters – are a local favourite, and Bärenhöfli’s secret recipe enjoys almost legendary status, the speciality being held in high esteem even beyond the City of Berne. We serve these little delights with vanilla sauce, chili-chocolate sauce, sorbets and other options.

Our little conference niches are at your disposal for undisturbed discussions and a quiet working environment. Thanks to ample power supply and free WiFi, they also make for a splendid space allowing you to prepare for seminars and meetings in our congress rooms.

We wish you a warm welcome to the Bärenhöfli! Our little restaurant is part of the Hotel Kreuz. However, thanks to its convenient location in the centre of the old town, the Bärenhöfli is first and foremost a popular meeting spot among locals. Our motivated and dedicated team is pleased to welcome you in our restaurant.
HISTORY
The «Coffeehouse Bärenhöfli» was established in 1894 as the first alcohol-free restaurant within the City of Berne. During the course of its history, the establishment has always managed to adapt to the new needs and demands of our customers. Today, over 100 years later, we’re still striving to delight and surprise our patrons with affordable, yet highest-quality meals.
